Love Is...(2)

Love Is… (2)
…Like a rose. First it is a small seed. When it is planted and nurtured, love grows. Eventually blossoming into a beautiful flower.

…Like a blanket. Wrapped in your favourite one has a sense of warmth and security. Love warms the heart and secures the spirit.

…Meant to be shared. When love is shared it expands and deepens, becoming more expansive than the universe and deeper than the dark depths of the sea.

…Healing. When a heart is broken, love can mend the sorrow closing the wound like a seamstress sewing a torn dress. Love becomes the thread that binds the wounded soul.

…God. For he so loved the world that he sacrificed his only son to redeem us. Through that redemption we are saved. God showed the world how to love and now we can love and cherish our fellow humans.

…Sacrifice. Forfeiting our own life to save another is the ultimate form of love. Being willing to give all to help another person comes naturally when in love.

Love was given to us as a gift by our Lord and Saviour above. Cherish love and love will cherish you.

Love is...

Love is…

Love starts as a small seed, much like that of the Mustard seed. As the mustard seed grows into a majestic tree so it is with love, as it matures and ages, it grows spreading joy, bliss and encompassing all within its reach.

Love is like the embers of a dying fire, sparkling, glowing and radiating heat and light into a harsh world.

Love can also be like ice, cold hard and unyielding.

Love is an emotion that must be shared. Sharing love increases the power of love tenfold. An emotion that is shared by man and wife becomes the bond that unites them for life.

Love is the most wonderful feeling that one can experience.

My Wife

My Wife

Our paths first crossed in high school. Me, I was the new kid.  She was the established kid. But fate was not on our side yet. We did not meet.

Our paths crossed again many years later. I was flying downhill on my bicycle, wind blowing through my hair, feeling extremely joyful. She called to me as I went zipping by. I stopped, we talked. And from there romance blossomed, opening like a flower feeling the warmth of the sun.

We made our life together. Her my wife, I her husband. As one we met the trials and tribulations of life with minimal strife.

Over thirty years have passed since that fateful day that our paths crossed. Thirty years of marital bliss.

Our love is endless. It has continued on through thick and thin. Our love has grown from a slender thread to a strong hawser. It transcends all boundaries to hold and bind us together.

As one we face the uncertain future. As one we will decide our fate. As one we will continue to face forward feeling the winds of change on our face.

We have our love for each other to guide us.

Love

Love
Love is an emotion that when expressed freely spreads peace, warmth, and happiness.
Love is meant for sharing. For sharing by love spreads out covering the earth much like the Phlox flower spreads out to cover the meadow.
When love is shared it becomes as strong as a tree and as flexible as a branch. To endure love must be both strong and flexible to withstand the rigors of life. Having durability such as this love will last as long as the sun shines down on the earth.
Love has many faces. It can be seen in the joy of a child receiving their first puppy – unconditional & unrestricted. Or in the way a mother deer helps her fawn – nuzzling the baby deer. Or in the way a flower stretches out to reach the warmth of the sun – dazzling with beauty & aroma.
Love is not meant to be hidden. Hidden love festers and poisons itself with self-doubt and negativity quickly becoming like a boil – red & sore. Hiding love makes it unrequited causing the love to become hard & bitter pill to swallow.
Like Prince Charming and Snow White finding each other, true love will find its soul-mate.
So always remember that love is better shared or given away. And sharing love will only help to make this world a better place.

Life & Death

Life & Death
Life is a journey that traverses time and events. It is a spiral that culminates with death.
Every life begins as a small seed. The seed is planted and nurtured to grow into a big strong flower.
The seed is aided by watering and feeding as it moves on the journey through growth.
This growth produces a flower that radiates beauty. As the season passes the flower begins to age, wither and grow old. The plant that began as a seed many moons ago is beginning die. Death is near.
So it is with life. Conception starts life. Then through caring and nurturing life is stimulated. A human being is created.
In mid-life the being radiates beauty, much the same as a new flower. But the death spiral starts.
Death is a long slow spiral down into nothingness. Yet out of death springs new life. For in death the flower spreads its seed to renew life. Humans spread their seed throughout their life, not waiting until the death spiral begins.
Yet even here the cycle of life is renewed before the spectre of death comes knocking at the door.
Life and death would not exist without the other.

Marriage

Marriage
Marriage is the union of two kindred souls, creating one entity with two minds.
Two pipes joined together form a union, but the bond is not robust. Welding forges a strong and robust bond.
A flower builds a union between itself and the root system, creating strength and stability.
So it must be with a marriage, the bond must be strengthened to become as impregnable as a fortress.
And yet the union must remain fragile. For over time, without nurturing, the marriage may become brittle and cracked as the ice on a frozen lake is brittle and cracked.
The bubbling brook wends its way through the forest, tumbling over obstacles continuing merrily on its journey.
Matching the brook, a marriage must wind its way through life avoiding obstacles, so that a strong bond is formed and the journey continues on harmoniously.

Home & Heart

Home & Heart
Home is where the heart resides.
A house may be erected to embrace the heart, much as a wine cup embraces the wine in clear crystal.
With every transient season the house transforms into a home, brimming with pearls of memory that cling to the possessions of the home.
These pearls of memory are forever stored in the heart, constructing a home brick by brick.
A flower opens itself to the breeze allowing its seeds to spread across the plain.
So it is with the heart. The fickle winds of affection can move the heart far and wide.
Accordingly, does the home not follow the heart? Inasmuch as the heart moves from one community to another, the home follows also.
The house, like the maple tree, is rooted deep. The base is as stable and strong as a mountain. The house rooted, stable and strong is still only a house if no heart resides there.
Like the noon day sun warming the earth, homes radiate the heat of love from the heart.

Home is where the heart is.
