Another Dimension

Another Dimension

I was by the sea
When a window to another dimension
Opened up to me
Causing tension

A whole new world
Unfurled
Before my eyes
Oh, what a surprise

Stars, planets and space
Filled the whole place
Wonder and awe
Reflected on my face

Should I go?
And maintain the status quo
Or should I stay?
And runaway

I don’t know
Waffling to and fro
I decide not to go

The Lord

The Lord
The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
He fills my whole being
With his spirit
I bask in the glow
Of his everlasting love and forgiveness

My Lord’s love
Is boundless
His mercy
Is infinite
The Lord’s mercy and forgiveness
Will follow me for all my life

The Lord makes his presence
Known each day
The beauty of his creation
Is placed before us
To see, admire and be thankful
 I am thankful
That the Lord
Was so generous to me

He leadeth to still waters
To calm my soul
The Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want

Fish

Fish
Swimming in the ocean
Gliding smoothly
Through the currents
Flitting left and right
Life is good
Until the shark
Comes hunting

Jim I & II

These poems are dedicated to my friend of more than 35 years who is on his last legs in life. I will miss you my old friend:((

Jim I
Your time here on Earth
Was full of mirth
And laughter

We shared the good times
And weathered the bad
Our friendship was all we had

Memories were made
Both happy and sad
Your friendship made me glad

But now your life
Is at the end
The strife cuts into my heart
Like a knife

I will miss you
My old friend

Jim II
We met on a sunny day
You were going to graduate
Me, I just wanted to get high and play
I took your recommendation
And bought the hash
For my stash

Our friendship took off
Like a rocket at blast-off
Through thick and thin
Our friendship was akin
To a brotherhood
That began in childhood

As the years passed
Our friendship grew
Memories amassed
Mixing together like stew
Filling our brains and heart
Like abstract art

Now after 35 years
It will come to an end
That will be full of tears
As you ascend
To the pearly gate
To meet your fate

I will miss you
My dear friend Jim
Thank you for being true
Even when your light is dim
We are friends forever

Death's door

Death’s Door

Breathing raggedly
Looking pale ashen and thin
The grim Reaper nears
